Takashi Tanaka

Takashi Tanaka is an executive consultant specializing in integrated human resource development solutions through the process of coaching, performance competency modeling and individual assessment. He coaches executives and business leaders who need to boost their performance and business results in managing global responsibilities and transitioning to new roles.

He uses objective tools to identify strengths and development needs at the beginning of coaching, including performance standards, individual assessment and 360 multirater evaluation. This information helps coachees clearly understand the leaderís vision, identify gaps to improve, and prepare developmental plans.

Tanaka-san established an academic and industrial joint organization, Assessment Initiative Partners LLP, with members of Professor Takagi in May, 2006. Their aim is developing leadership skills by new methods through the School of Business at Keio University.

His professional consultancy includes 12 years at Personnel Decisions International (PDI). He consults in the areas of leadership development and succession management for high-potential global candidates. He served as the general manager of PDI Japan from 2000 to 2004. Tanaka-san has coached executives and business leaders who need to boost their performance and business results in managing global responsibilities and in transitioning to new roles. He has worked with multinational Japanese and global companies including Allergan, AstraZeneca, Hitachi, Pfizer, Pharmacia, Seiyu/Wal-Mart, Sony, Wyeth Lederle.

He is a Ph.D candidate in Organizational Behavior, Keio University, Graduate School of Business Administration, Tokyo, Japan. He received his M.A. in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University and an M.B.A. in Human Resource Management from Long Island University, New York.
