Joshua Ehrlich

Josh is an organizational consultant, executive coach, supervisor and accreditor of coaches. He advises CEOs and facilitates top teams to achieve complex objectives. He coaches executives in leadership skills including communication, negotiating/influencing, network and relationship management, team building and stress management. He also provides career management coaching to help individuals prepare for advancement opportunities and transition into new roles. He is passionate about helping clients leverage their strengths, accelerate their learning and unleash their potential.

Josh created the Middlesex Master’s Program in Executive Coaching, the first and only graduate program in the United States to offer an advanced degree in executive coaching. The program, with Middlesex University in London, is part of an international consortium of Centers of Excellence in Executive Coaching. Josh provides advanced training for leaders and internal OD/LD professionals in evidence-based coaching and mentoring. In addition, he serves as a Master Coach Supervisor for the European Coaching and Mentoring Council.

In 2010 Josh founded the Global Leadership Council—an international network of experts in leadership and organizational transformation that guide research and consult to the public and private sectors. He speaks to a variety of audiences about certification standards and brings together coaches from around the world to teach best practices. He has contributed to the Wall Street Journal and NPR, and appeared on Fox News and Voice America.

Josh is a leading authority on succeeding in demanding environments. His research at Yale and New York University and numerous articles have clarified the psychological and physiological mechanisms by which stress impairs effectiveness. Based on his findings, he helps individuals, teams and organizations develop their resilience through mindfulness training. This discipline is invaluable for optimizing concentration, strategic thinking and creative problem-solving.

Prior to launching the Global Leadership Council, Josh led strategic client initiatives and product development for BeamPines, Inc., a talent management firm based in New York. At BeamPines Josh was President, Educational Services and SVP, Executive Coaching. He led the assessment practice and provided coaching and talent management consulting to hundreds of senior executives in Fortune 500 companies.

Josh was awarded a BA with Distinction in Psychology from Yale University, and received his MA and Ph.D. from New York University in Clinical Psychology. Josh is a professor of Work-based Studies at Middlesex University. He is a member of The Human Capital Institute, The Human Resource Planning Society, The Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychologists and The American Psychological Association. Josh is licensed as a Psychologist in NY State.
