William Mobley

WilliamMobley is the founding director of Mobley Group Pacific, with officesin Hong Kong and Shanghai. He also serves as Professor of Managementand Faculty Advisor on Executive Education at China EuropeInternational Business School in Shanghai. He focuses on executiveassessment, coaching and organizational culture change in the China andthe Asia-Pacific region.

Bill works with clients on a highlyindividualized and high impact leadership development and behaviorchange agenda. Recent coaching assignments for executives frommultinational firms in A/P have included focus on moving from anoperational to a strategic mindset, relationship skills, transitioningfrom a business unit MD to A/P MD; cross-cultural skills, China entry,JV leadership team development, leading organizational change, upwardand distance influence, conflict management, and anger management amongothers. Bill’s toolkit includes Chinese and English versions of theDenison Organizational Culture and Denison Leadership 360; theWork Behavior Inventory; the Virtues Scales; the China 360; and aportfolio of Chinese anchored assessment tools.

Bill has beencommitted to talent development his entire career, a career that hasincluded serving as Manager of HR and Succession Planning for PPGIndustries, President of Texas A & M University, founder andpresident of the Global Research Consortium (GRC) and Managing Directorof Personnel Decisions International (PDI) Asia Pacific that includedstarting the Hong Kong and Shanghai offices, and serves on the Board ofDirectors of several firms and foundations in the U.S., Hong Kong andChina.

Bill is a Fellow of SIOP, APA and APS, is a registeredpsychologist in Hong Kong, and is executive editor of Advances inGlobal Leadership, (Elsevier/JAI, 1999, 2001, 2003). He is a member ofthe Education Committee of the Shanghai AMCHAM and Rotary InternationalShanghai.
