Mary Dee Hicks

Mary Dee Hicks, Ph.D., is a consulting psychologist, executive coach, writer, and lecturer who has specialized in professional career development for over 20 years.

She has a deep understanding of careers, management assessment, and the processes of individual change. She has co-authored two popular books, Leader as Coach: Strategies for Coaching and Developing Others and Development FIRST: Strategies for Self-Development, and has numerous articles, major conference presentations, and talent development workshops to her credit.

She is a former Senior Vice President at Personnel Decisions International, a global human resources consulting firm where her management development clients included major corporations and government agencies. She earned a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Minnesota in 1984, with an emphasis on work adjustment, learning, and personality. Her ongoing study is in the areas of individual change, personality development throughout the life span, the meaning of work, women’s careers, and midlife transition.
