Leonore Clauss

Leonore Clauss began her international career in two German export businesses (Daimler Benz and Volkswagen) before making North America her home. For the last 15 years Leonore has been an executive trainer and business coach with emphasis on leadership, growth potential and achieving results. She is President of Communications International – specializing in executive coaching and intercultural advising. She supervised 15 cross-cultural professional trainers delivering multilingual programs to global Fortune 500 organizations; she designs, develops and delivers orientation and training programs to hundreds of expatriates and international business executives; and has increased or sustained customer satisfaction in the ninetieth percentile.

Leonore seeks to help individuals bridge cultural divides. Culture as it refers not only to people with different national or ethnic backgrounds, but also to subcultures in organizations, institutions and among corporations who are redefining their goals and achievement objectives. As an interculturalist, she supports individuals and groups in achieving a deeper understanding of what is awaiting them in the process of transition and change by supporting their journey into the unknown and facilitating growth. Some of Leonore’s recent clients include Johnson & Johnson, Colgate Palmolive, Procter & Gamble, and Cadburry Schweppes.

Prior to founding her own business, she was Director of International Marketing and Training at FGI/Toronto where she headed the start-up and successful management of a new division; built their global customer base from zero to 32 locations; overachieved sales and profit expectations; and secured 100% customer retention. From 1985-1991 she was an account executive for the telecommunications industry. Leonore holds a B.Com., Diploma in Adult Education and Development and is a certified global coach professional. She also administers a number of assessment and personal preference instruments.

Leonore has toured the world twice and is a passionate traveler seeking meaning and adventure in remote encounters and far-away places. Her work as coach and trainer reflects her philosophy of life-long learning and a continuous approach to expanding the mind – adding opportunities and challenges beyond limitations so often imposed by age, borders or societal roles. She commits to daily practice in meditation and yoga and enjoys her Canadian northern landscapes just as much as deserts and warm tropical waters. She lives her intention to promote personal harmony and peaceful community by volunteering at the Centre of Victims of Torture and mentoring foreign trained professional through their often painful immigration transition and settlement process.
