David Hudnut

David Hudnut founded his company, Grok Consulting, S.L., a leadership development and coaching business, because he enjoys working with decision makers in business organizations to help them create profound value through their organizational activities. David has a strong business background. He is an imaginative and out-of-the-box thinker able to challenge executives to do their best, to question their assumptions, and to tap into their unrealized potential. David understands and has worked on a global level, in various national and business cultures. He works in four languages: English, German, French and Spanish and so he is able to work with conflict and other leadership issues that arise across cultures.

David’s business experience includes: management positions, financial and product management, development and delivery of large change programs, experience with all aspects of sales from salesman to sales management and training. He has worked in industries such as: raw materials, banking, electronics, hi-tech, power generation, medical, and publishing. David has worked throughout western Europe and on the East and West Coast of the USA. He is involved with the Shambhala Institute for Authentic Leadership where he was a member of the module selection committee, the program design team and a member of the hosting group for the June 2007 program.

David’s coaching approach is to establish a bond of trust with his clients. When trust is established, the ensuing openness allows the coachee to use the interaction with David to develop solutions for pressing problems and discover new areas to develop. David’s coachees can quickly see that he understands their business challenges. He uses various tools to tune his approach to the coachee in order to determine whether or not they may require a style where more listening is needed, or more direction, more participation or less, etc. At the core of his philosophy is his assumption that the coachee definitely has undiscovered potential and that by working together that potential can be discovered and brought into action.

David has a Masters Degree in International Affairs (International Business Focus), Columbia University, New York; Bachelor's Degrees in Political Science and Economics, UC Berkeley, California; and Licence, Science Politique, Talence, France.
